Why we built Finch
A friend of ours ran a PI firm and started turning down winning cases because he couldn't keep up with all the clients who needed his help. We built the operating muscle to help him say yes to more cases.
We started Finch because the best PI firms in the country are leaving cases on the floor.

We met at Stanford as undergrads and became best friends. Viraj even introduced Ben to his, now, wife. After graduating, Viraj went on to build operational software at DoorDash. Ben stayed at Stanford for a master’s in computer science on the AI track, then went on to Google and DoorDash. For years we talked about what it would look like to bring that same operational rigor to an industry that actually needed it.
When we started looking at personal injury, the pattern was unmistakable. The firms we spent time with had brilliant attorneys and exhausted paralegals. Cases that should have settled in eight months were taking eighteen. Records sat on desks for weeks. Demand letters were good but rare. And the operators running it all were drowning in the second-order work of running a law firm, not practicing law.
We kept hearing the same thing from managing partners: I’d sign more cases tomorrow if I knew my team could handle the volume. So that became the problem worth solving. Not another piece of software for the firm to log into. Not a BPO shop. A real operating partner, people who’ve worked PI cases at the firms that do it best, paired with the technology that handles the records, the bills, the lien math, and the demand drafts, so the firm’s own team can stay focused on the work that actually moves a case.
Finch is that operating partner. Today we run intake, case management, demands, settlement, and litigation operations for personal injury firms across the country. Every file has a named human accountable for it. Every operator has years inside a PI firm before they ever touch a Finch file. And underneath all of it is the software we’ve always wanted to build, the kind that compounds expertise rather than replacing it.
If you’re running a PI firm and you’ve ever turned down a case because the operational load felt impossible, we built this for you. Come talk to us.
